Our History

Lassen County Federal Credit Union's History

The Lassen County Federal Credit Union was formed in 1966 under a federal charter by a small group of Lassen County employees who wanted a financial institution that would help fellow workers obtain small loans.

The secretary at the Lassen County Road Department ran the Credit Union from her desk for a number of years. She would handle deposits and withdrawals and the Credit Committee would grant small loans. It has now grown to include anyone who lives, works, or worships in Lassen County. The Credit Union also accepts new members that are related to current members if they do not have affiliations with Lassen County.

We are the only locally owned and operated Credit Union in Lassen County.

Lassen County Federal Credit Union is proud to have the privilege to serve and represent the people of Lassen County for over 55 years. We have watched our community change over the past few decades and look forward to many more years of service.

We are proud to be part of this community because, when the chips are down, the community pulls together as a family. Thanks to our members we have grown from a handful of members to over 4800 members strong. With the support of the community, we look forward to the next 55 years.
