Lassen County Federal Credit Union offers a variety of ways to save and invest your money ~ all at very competitive rates. Your deposits are federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) to at least $250,000 and backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government.

The following are our most popular ways to save:

Member Share Account

A Lassen County Federal Credit Union member share account is your “share” in the credit union and the only account you are required to open for membership eligibility. Your member Share Account serves as a basic savings account and entitles you to the many benefits of the credit union. You must have a Member Share Account to open additional accounts such as Share Draft (Checking) Accounts, Freedom Accounts, Certificates, Loans, IRA, etc. Share Accounts include Kid’s Club for youngsters up to age 13, and TeenClub Accounts up to age 18.

Auxiliary Share Account

Auxiliary Share Accounts allow you to designate accounts for particular budget reasons. For example you can save for taxes, insurance, vacation and home improvement without having to combine the funds.

Freedom Account (Money Market)

A Lassen County Federal Credit Union Freedom Account helps you earn a higher rate of return on your deposits and gives you ready access to your funds. Freedom Accounts are based on tiered balances and rates are variable.

Certificates

Put your money to work for you with a certificate account! Choose your term, earn consistent dividends and reinvest for maximum earnings at our highest dividend rates.

Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA)

It’s never too early or too late to start saving for retirement. Lassen County Federal Credit Union offers a variety of Individual Retirement Account (IRA) options to make your retirement more secure and enjoyable.

Member Share Account

It’s quick and easy to set aside funds by:

  • Direct Deposit
  • Automatic transfers from another account
  • Making deposits into the account

Your Christmas Club funds are automatically transferred on November 1st or the first business day of November every year to your  Base Share (savings) Account.

A Lassen County Federal Credit Union Freedom Account helps you earn a higher rate of return on your deposits and gives you available access to your funds. Freedom Accounts are based on tiered balances and rates are variable.

Tiered balance options mean you can get competitive interest rates at no risk! Funds are accessible at any time with no early withdrawal penalties, and members will still having the flexibility of receiving higher dividends. Rates will vary according to tier.

Pioneer Penny Saver accounts are a great way to teach your kids the importance of financial responsibility. Give them the experience of controlling and maintaining their own account along with learning how to handle their money and the benefits they will gain from saving.

Pioneer Penny Saver’s Club ~ ages up to 13

With this account, children learn the benefits of having a savings account with saving and deposit incentives.

The Teen Club ~ ages 13-18

Geared for our teen members, this account teaches the responsibilities of saving for the future with special incentives. Some teens also gain knowledge on how to maintain and balance a checking account.

*All youth accounts require a legal guardian or Parent to be a joint member on the account until the child reaches 18 years of age. We offer the Pioneer Penny Saver’s Club and the Teen Club for our members.

*Annual Percentage Yields (APY) and dividend rates are established monthly by the credit union’s board of directors. All dividends are compounded monthly. Dividend rates are variable and subject to change monthly after the account is opened. Rates are effective as of 10/12/2022.
